3.7 Seeing Color

A. Color and Light

Part of what makes video games so much fun is the amazing images! When we turn on a video game, the screen is filled with color. The world around us is also filled with color. We see games because the game lights up, but we see things around us because of lights from light bulbs and the sun. 

Think About It: 

  1. Study the four pictures below. They are all lit up by white light. 
  2. How can we see different colors when a lightbulb gives off white light? 

B. Light It Up Experiment

Now you’ll figure out how white light can help us see color! Follow the directions in your Mission Log so you can see how light travels and how it reflects differently off of different colored surfaces.
