Project Title: The Art of Light and Sound

Mission:

How can people use trash, sound, and light to make something new?

Culminating / Take Action Project

Host an art show or exhibit to teach others about upcycling.

What Kids Learn

Did you know that we throw away about 4.5 trillion pounds of trash every year? That’s a lot of trash that is going into landfills and the ocean. It is harming our environment and the living beings in each place. Students in this project will learn about upcycling and how we can upcycle to reuse and reduce trash. They will explore concept of sound, shadows, light and properties of matter to create something new out of “waste”.  For their take action project they will then host an art show to share either their upcycled instrument or shadow art to teach others about how we can use creativity to reduce our waste.
