Take Action Project: Time Capsule and Letter

Summary:

Students will learn how to create a time capsule with a corresponding letter with help from Chelsea Blake, an archeological conservator from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. They’ll learn three main steps to create their time capsule: determine a clear message, select artifacts that align to the message, and write a letter to clarify their message. Students will then plan and create their own time capsule and letter.

Final Project

Create a time capsule, including a letter, to educate people in the future about some of the conditions humans would need to survive on a different planet.
