Take Action Project: Making A Picture Book

Summary:

Students will learn how to write and illustrate a picture book that encourages their reader to take action. Students meet an author and learn three strategies for writing a standout picture book: having a strong plot, showing not telling the reader, and using powerful word choice and repetition. After going through the brainstorming and drafting process, students learn how to add illustrations to add to the characters and plot.  The project culminates with students sharing their book!
