4.8 Feedback on your Outline –

A. Meet with Your Editor

Now it’s time to meet with your editor and get feedback on your outline. Pick 1-3 people who can give you feedback. Ask them:

  • Does my outline have a clear purpose? What is it?
  • Are my characters memorable? Can you tell who is the hero or villain?
  • What could I change to make my story more compelling? Why?

B. Using Feedback

Now it’s time to use the feedback you got. Here are some pro tips on using feedback:
Read the feedback. Look for trends. Trends are things that more than one person said.

  • Did everyone agree? If yes, maybe you should make those changes.
  • Did everyone disagree? If people have different ideas, pick the one or ones you think are best.

Then make the changes.
