4-10: Practice

A. Practice

Practice makes you better and more confident, and sharing your ideas and creations with others. Don’t expect the first time you practice sharing your time capsule with others to be perfect- it might take a lot of practice!

As you practice sharing your time capsule, keep the following things in mind:

  • Speak slowly so others can understand you.
  • Speak clearly so others can understand you.
  • Make eye contact with your audience and give them plenty of time to observe your artifacts.

Here are a few ways you can practice sharing your time capsule:

  • In a Mirror: Use a mirror to practice telling others about your time capsule and to read your letter.
  • Record Yourself: Use a computer or phone to record yourself talking about your time capsule and reading your letter. Watch the video to see what you did well and what you can improve.
  • In Front of a Group: Find a group of friends or family members to share your time capsule and letter with. Ask for feedback after you’ve finished sharing.

B. Rate Yourself

Directions: After practicing, rate yourself using the checklist in your Mission Log. Use it to decide whether you are ready to share your time capsule and letter.
