B. Meet Eric Okdeh
It’s time to meet Eric Okdeh. Have you ever painted a giant picture or mural on the side of your house? Probably not, but that’s what Eric does. He works with the community to create amazing murals that tell stories in pictures that the public can see! His art is for everyone and it’s outside so everyone can see it.
Philadelphia, or Philly, is the city of murals. There are over 4,000 murals there. A lot of those murals are about important topics. Some of them are about families separated by prisons or the challenges of mental illness.
Eric has murals ALL OVER THE WORLD. He has murals in Hawaii, Spain, Jordan and Norway. That is so much art!

D. Make a Mural
A mural is a large painting on a wall or ceiling. In these lessons, you will learn terms to help you design your mural and also see how Eric uses his murals to provide a voice and share a message. You can do the same – use your mural to take action!
After learning from Eric, you will create your own mural. Don’t worry if you don’t have a ceiling or wall to paint on, you can create your mural on a paper or cardboard and hang it anywhere!
