Project Title: No Bees, No Food

Mission:

How can we save bee populations to protect our food?

Culminating / Take Action Project

Students choose from three informative projects: podcast, news story, or graphic design.

What Kids Learn

Some bee populations are struggling, putting the plants we depend on for food at risk. In No Bees, No Food, students act as scientists to investigate why bee populations are struggling and why that matters for the food people eat. Across four modules, students uncover what bees need to survive, the science of how flowering plants make and move the food bees depend on, and how a decline in bees could ripple through an entire ecosystem.

Virtual Field Trips

One of our goals is to help kids connect what they are learning in our projects to the real world beyond the classroom. To do that, we’ve partnered with experts to help students learn from and virtually visit with experts from around the world. The Save the Elephant project partners with:

Anthony Colangelo

Students learn from Anthony Colangelo, Education Manager at Pollinator Partnership. Students learn about the challenges facing bee populations and actions people can take to protect bees and their habitats.
